About Our Farm

We are a small family farm and licensed goat dairy located in Buxton, Maine. We have a growing herd of Saanens, Nigerian Dwarfs, and crosses. Our goats are raised holistically, hand milked each day, and loved like family. With their wonderful milk we make goat’s milk soap, fresh creamy chèvre, and goat’s milk fudge!

I started making goat’s milk soap and body products for my son who suffers from eczema. The more I read and learned about what is in the commercial soaps and skin care products, the more concerned I became. Why would anyone want to expose themselves or their family to these irritants, preservatives, and carcinogenic chemicals?  I wanted soap that was safe for our family to use, that wouldn’t irritate my son’s eczema, and that would be good for our skin.

Our skin is our body’s largest organ and absorbs whatever we put on it. With this in mind I began experimenting with different soap recipes until I formulated my own. I make soap the old-fashioned cold process way using simple, pure, and all natural ingredients such as sustainable oils, herbs we organically grow in our herb gardens, and natural clays and organic spices for coloring. Only pure essential oils are used for gentle scent. Each batch of soap has lots of our wonderful goat’s milk to gently clean your skin.

I admire a holistic approach to life and it brings me joy to tend to my farm and business in this way. I enjoy caring for my goats each day, I feel good about the ingredients that go into making each product, and feel positive about every step of the process.
